Hormone Replacement Therapy
Hormones affect many areas of your health including your mood, your metabolism, and your sexual and reproductive function. When hormones become unbalanced, undesirabled side effects can occur including but not limited to hot flashes, night sweats and decreased libido. Compounded hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a way to restore balance in order to help you feel like yourself again. HRT can utilize hormones that have the exact chemical structure as the hormones present in the human body. Each person's body is different. By working with your physician on a compounded medication regime, hormones can be balanced in a personalized dosage form rather than applying a one size fits all model to the inbalance.

Compounded prescritptions are an alternative solution to obtain personalized pain relief without many of the unwanted side effects.

Compounding for pediatric patients has a multitude of benefits. Each child develops at a dfferent rate with unique medication needs. A compounding pharmacist along with the pediatrician can formulate a medication which meets all the child’s requirements for drug strength along with ingredient variations to avoid common allerigies such as sugar, gluten, casein, soy, dye, etc. Flavoring medications to improve the taste and providing individualized stengths & dosage forms for these patients are among the most common uses for pediatric compounded medication. Examples of some pescription treatments for pediatric patients include but are not limited to: pain relief, oral thrush, diaper rash & skin disorders.
Pets need just as much specialized treatment as any other family member you have. We work directly with your vet to find the best treatment options avaiable to treat your pet's medication needs. Some common treatment options include flavoring medication like tuna or liver for easier delivery into your pet's system. Another common practice is the use of a trans-dermal gel or cream to rub onto the pet instead of through a pill dosage form.

This is especially helpful in providing dye, preservative and fragrance free options for our patients. Common areas of treatment include: acne, diaper rash, eczema, fever blisters, burn wounds, scarring and warts.
Dentisty can benefit greatly from compounded medication due to the wide variety of its patient base. Compounds can be created for treatments such as: procedural anxiety, pain relief, dry sockets, flouride, gum disease, plaque removal, oral ulcers, cankor sores, tooth whitening, etc.
Capsules & Suppositories
Compounding medications in alternate dosage forms helps to provide solutions to many of our patints' medication needs. Customized capsules assist in cases where an alternate strength is required or to omit potential allergens or irritants, such as dyes, preservatives, or gluten. They are also used to lessen the number of doses to be taken by the patient. This is accomplished by combining multiple medications into a single dosage or by making the medication into a sustained-release capsule. Patients who cannot take medications orally are ideal candidates for compounded suppositories. Suppositories can be given rectally, vaginally or urethrally. By melting or dissolving into the body cavity, suppositories allow the medication to pass quickly into the bloodstream.
Topical Pain Gels
Topical methods of delivery are widely used in compounded medications because they allow the absorption of medicine directly through the skin. This delivery method may help to avoid potential side effects such as stomach upset or drowsiness. Topical medications often are prescribed for pain management, inflammation and nausea/vomiting.
LDN comes from the drug Naltrexone. Naltrexone is an FDA approved drug for opiod and alcohol addiction. However, Low-Dose Naltrexone, or “LDN” which you can only receive from a reliable compounding pharmacy, is thought to be beneficial in several conditions, particularly those involving the immune system. LDN boosts the immune system, activating the body's own natural defenses. In general, in people with diseases that are partially or largely triggered by a deficiency of endorphins (including cancer and autoimmune diseases), or are accelerated by a deficiency of endorphins (such as HIV/AIDS), restoration of the body's normal production of endorphins is the major therapeutic action of LDN. Talk to us today about the possibilities of how compounded LDN can treat multiple immune disease states (including but not limited to cancer, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome), adjunct therapy for depression and chronic neuropathic pain.
